This fall (2009), four timberland properties in Lane County, totaling 217 acres and valued at more than $800,000, will be sold by Realty Marketing Northwest (RMNW), a real estate marketing firm under contract to DSL. The Mt. Hagan and Big River parcels will be sold at an oral auction on Nov. 14 in Portland, and Blue River Lake and North Fork Quartz Creek will be sold through a sealed-bid process on Nov. 18.

Mt. Hagan
|

This parcel is in a forested area on the north side of the McKenzie River with elevations ranging from 1,725’ to 2,600’. The property has young Douglas fir reproduction timber with stand ages estimated from 19 to 24 years old. Ownership of surrounding area includes: USFS on one side; private ownership on the rest. The land use allows for commercial forest land with no homesites allowed.

LOCATION: Township 16 South, Range 3 East, Section 36, Tax Lot 1912.
This parcel is 23 miles northeast of Springfield, north of Hwy.126, close to Nimrod.
ZONING: Forest Land (F-1)
ACCESS: Gravel logging road access across privately owned land.

Big River

This parcel is in a steep, forested area. Ownership is private on two sides and BLM on the other two. The topography is a sloping hillside with some gentler bench areas; elevations range from 1600’ to 2100’. The approved land use for the parcel is as commercial timber land (F-1) which will not allow a homesite.

LOCATION: Township 23 South, Range 2 West, Section 6, Tax Lot 700.
This parcel is seven miles southeast of London and 13 miles southeast of Cottage Grove, just north of Big River.

ACCESS: The property has physical access on BLM Road 1080, which is a one lane gravel road suitable for logging but has no legal access or permission to use the road from the BLM.

Blue River Lake

This parcel is in a forest area ¼ mile west of Blue River Lake. Surrounded by USFS. The topography consists of a steep east-facing slope; elevations of 1950’ to 2750’. Land use is commercial forestland with no homesite possible.

This parcel is ¼ mile west of Blue River Lake, and six miles northwest of the town of Blue River.

North Fork Quartz Creek

This parcel is in a forest area 1¼ mile west of Blue River Lake. Quartz Creek runs through the property in a north-south direction in a “V” shaped canyon. Elevation ranges from the south end at 1850’ to the northeast corner at 2350’ elevation. The topography varies and has some very steep areas. Surrounded by USFS. Land use for the parcel allows for commercial forestland with no homesite.
