Safety on the water is a high priority for boaters and for the Marine Board, Oregon's recreational boating agency. One way to promote safety is by enforcing boating regulations. Under the Marine Board's direction, state and county agencies work together to create a safe, enjoyable environment for all boaters.

OPERATION DRY WATER -Coming to a waterbody near you during the weekend of June 26! Alcohol is a major contributing factor in recreational boating accidents, injuries and deaths. The Marine Board is joining forces with other states to raise awareness about the dangers of combining drinking and boating recreation. The effort is aimed at reducing the number of alcohol-related accidents and fatalities and to foster a stronger -more visible deterrent to alcohol use on the water.
