Marine Board Considers OYCC Grant Requests

The Oregon State Marine Board will meet via phone conference at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, to consider a series of challenge grants to help fund at-risk youth projects at motorized boating facilities around the state. The program is managed by the Oregon Youth Conservation Corps.

OYCC has been an active partner with the Marine Board for 12 years. Through the program, youths learn skills constructing a variety of boating access facilities. They also receive training in water and boating safety. They have completed dozens of projects across Oregon waterways.

Marine Board staff is recommending approval of $58,903 for six projects. Projects include:
