Marine Board Meets in Salem March 31

A demonstration of the Marine Board's new on-line boater registration renewal system will be one of the highlights at the next meeting of the Oregon State Marine Board. The meeting will be at 9 a.m. March 31, at the Marine Board office in Salem, 435 Commercial Street NE.

The following items are on the agenda.

  • Director's Report: Will include updates on legislative action, budget, registration and other Agency matters.
  • E-commerce demonstration: Staff will demonstrate the new on-line boat registration renewal system to the Board.
  • Rulemaking: Informational report on requests for local rulemaking. Staff may seek Board direction.
  • Rulemaking: Reinstate temporary rule limiting boat operation at bridge construction site where Highway 101 crosses the Rogue River at Gold Beach.
  • Facility Grant Requests: Funding request for Oregon Youth Conservation Corps projects at Oregon boat access facilities; request to fund vault toilet projects in Tillamook County at Lake Lytle and Little Nestucca River.
  • Education/Information Program report: Informational report.
  • Law Enforcement Program report: Informational report.
  • Rulemaking - South Fork Coquille River: Staff report on a petition to prohibit the use of motorboats. Board action requested.
  • Rulemaking - Wood River (Klamath County): Staff report on repeal of construction speed limit in place June 1, 1998 through May 30, 2001. Board action requested.

The meeting will begin promptly at 9 a.m. The meeting facility is accessible for persons with disabilities.
