Marine Board Meets in Newport June 28
The Oregon State Marine Board will meet Tuesday, June 28, to consider 50 funding requests seeking more than $10 million for boating access projects across the state.
Requested projects are located throughout the state and include such items as improved or expanded boat ramps, new floats, parking improvements and restrooms. Projects that are not funded in this round will be deferred until later in the 2005-2007 biennium.
The meeting will be held at the Best Western Agate Beach Inn located at 3019 North Coast Highway in Newport. The meeting will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. Agenda items include:
• Facilities projects - funding consideration for 50 projects.
• Consideration of Rulemaking on Fourmile Lake the Klamath Ranger District has requested a 10 mph speed limit on Fourmile Lake in the Fremont-Winema National Forest in Klamath County.
• Report on Triennial Survey Results - results of the triennial survey including three year boater use survey.
• Director’s Report- Legislative actions, budget, registration and other agency matters.
The Marine Board is Oregon’s recreational boating agency charged with providing registration and titling, education, marine law enforcement and facilities development for Oregon’s recreational boaters. The Marine Board uses boat registration, title fees and motorboat fuel tax revenues, to build and maintain boating access facilities across the state.
