Marine Board Honors City of Depoe Bay Employee
Immediate Release
The Oregon State Marine Board recognized the efforts of Pery Murray, City Recorder for the City of Depoe Bay, with the Outstanding Parks Support Staff Award. The award was given during the Marine Board’s bi-annual Facilities Grant Workshop in Salem, January 30.
The award recognizes a person who makes a significant, if behind-the-scenes, contribution to a grant project.
Several years ago the city received a grant to replace the condemned fuel dispensing facility at the marina in Depoe Bay. Despite numerous setbacks in the project, Murray was a steadfast source of information, and willing to provide documents in a timely manner. She managed to balance the dynamics of city staff with Marine Board directives and kept communication open between all parties involved. “Without her diligence and calming influence, the project may not have been completed,” said Wayne Shuyler, Boating Facilities Program Manager for the Marine Board.
