Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office was recognized for being the Most Improved Seasonal Program in the state. “The folks that patrol Yamhill County’s area and those who supervise and manage the program scored big this past year,” said Bill Rydblom, Law Enforcement Manager for the Marine Board.  Yamhill County’s marine patrol achieved more than 98 percent of their assigned patrol hours (777 total hours), an impressively high number considering seasonal programs operate only a portion of each year with few deputies assigned to marine functions.  Yamhill County made 598 boater contacts, conducted 330 boat examinations, and issued 43 citations and 225 warnings.  In addition, they also took one stolen boat/motor report. Rydblom adds, “This amounts to a lot of consistency in marine safety and law enforcement for Oregon boaters in the mid-Willamette Valley.”
