Tillamook County received two grants from the Oregon State Marine Board to replace the existing boarding floats in Tillamook Bay and Netarts Bay.  The Marine Board approved the grants at its quarterly Board meeting on April 7, in Wilsonville.

The Memaloose Point launch ramp on Tillamook Bay will receive 120 feet of new boarding floats that will be installed on the existing piles.  The county requested $60,000 in state funds which will be combined with a $12,000 in-kind contribution by the county.  The projected total cost is $72,000.

The Netarts boat landing on Netarts Bay will receive 140 feet of new boarding floats using the existing piles.  The county requested $67,000 in state funds, which will be combined with a $13,000 in-kind contribution by the county.  The projected total cost is $80,000.

Both Tillamook Bay and Netarts Bay are popular boating destinations for various angling opportunities.  New boarding floats will provide boaters with a safe, stable tie-up when loading and launching.
