Roger’s Landing Receives Grant for Lighting, Camera
Yamhill County received a grant from the Oregon State Marine Board to add lighting and security cameras to Roger’s Landing on the Willamette River. The Marine Board approved the grant at its quarterly Board meeting on April 7, in Wilsonville.
Roger’s Landing is the second most popular launch site on the Willamette River and serves all types of boating activities. Although the county installed lights in the parking area, there have been reports of thefts and vandalism, making boaters uneasy. New lighting, security cameras and stepped-up law enforcement presence will help deter illegal activities at this popular launch site.
Yamhill County requested $64,000 in state funds which will be combined with $15,000 cash and $2,500 in-kind contribution by the county. The projected total cost is $81,500.
